Travel Medicine Program

The Sonoma Valley Hospital Occupational Health Department offers a Travel Medicine Program for both work related travel and to the general public.
CDC and WHO guidelines are followed and we are a certified Yellow Fever Vaccination Center.
The program is headed by a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine which enables us to stay up to date on the latest travel risks and disease information. Adult vaccination is also available for non-travelers.

Occupational Health & Travel Medicine are located on the first floor of the hospital, in the south corridor.

Services offered:

  • Destination-specific pre-travel evaluation and counseling
  • Customized travel report
  • The following vaccinations are available: 
    • Hepatitis A, (two-vaccine series)
    • Hepatitis B (three-vaccine series)
    • Influenza (available in fall and winter)
    • Japanese Encephalitis
    • Measles, Mumps, & Rubella
    • Meningococcal Meningitis: Menactra
    • Pneumococcal pneumonia: Pneumovax
    • Polio, Adult booster
    • Rabies: Rabavert (The three-vaccine series, for pre-exposure, is restricted by the CDC to "at risk" activities.)
    • Shingles:  Zostavax
    • Tetanus, also Diphtheria-Tetanus and DPT
    • Typhoid: Injection: Typhim VI , and Oral; Vivotif
    • Yellow Fever
  • Prescriptions for medications which include malaria prevention, altitude sickness prevention and the treatment of traveler's gastroenteritis
